Asiya Khan, MD

Asiya is a board-certified family physician who comes to Crossover with over 8 years of patient care experience in Northern California. Asiya completed residency in family medicine. Asiya was selected for the “Mark Stinson Fellowship in Global Health and Leadership” in 2010. The fellowship was offered in collaboration with Contra Costa Health Services and UC Berkeley. Asiya also completed a Masters in Public Health from UC Berkeley in 2012.

 

Asiya is an avid advocate of providing integrated health services and has worked enthusiastically with the multi-ethnic communities of San Joaquin, Contra Costa Counties and the South Bay area. She has a special interest in the behavioral, dermatological and musculoskeletal aspects of healthcare. She believes that doctors touch the lives of people every single day. Asiya’s long-term vision is to treat the whole family as a unit and utilize her education and experience to address their needs effectively with a multidisciplinary approach. Nature has always been a great source of inspiration for Asiya. In her spare time, Asiya loves to bike, read books and travel the world with her husband and 3 beautiful kids.

Healthcare has been in Saba’s blood since her youth. Her parents’ involvement in the oil industry took her around the world for the first 13 years of her life. She spent her wonder years in Southeast Asia and had a chance to see first hand the global need for quality healthcare. She returned with her family to Southern California during her high school years and began her career journey to become the first physician in her family.

 

Saba attended medical school at UCLA and completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at UC Davis. She has spent the last 18 years juggling a busy career and raising her children. Saba enjoys staying active with her family. Reading science fiction and playing the guitar are two of her favorite “me time” activities. She lives with her husband and kids in the heart of the Silicon Valley.

Leslie is an experienced Registered Nurse with over 20 years of health care delivery experience. She began her career at Stanford Hospital where she worked as a staff nurse, clinical nurse specialist, physician liaison, and PACU nurse. She later gained experience in several specialities including cardiology, orthopedic spine, gastroenterology, internal medicine, and ambulatory surgery. Leslie brings her love of serving and caring for others to her role as the practice manager, responsible for the day-to-day clinical management of the health center. She will help ensure your visit to the health center combines the highest quality of care with an exceptional experience.

 

Leslie is a California girl who was born in Malibu and raised in Menlo Park where she still resides today. She finds great satisfaction in working with people to help them reach their full potential. She is an active mom who enjoys baking, pilates, tennis, and is a huge football and baseball fan! She can often be found helping with her daughter’s crew team or trying to keep up with her son on a dirt bike.

Andrea has over 7 years of experience in the health care field from working in a Nursing home and at a Physical Therapy clinic. She believes and values the importance of creating a positive patient experience for every member as they walk through the door.

 

Outside of work, Andrea enjoys spending her time outdoors and venturing out to find new places to eat. She loves to explore different hiking trails, enjoys going out for a run, and loves weekend trips to the beach.

Michelle is a driven and enthusiastic individual that always focuses on providing a positive patient experience. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Health Science with a Concentration in Pre-Clinical at California State University, East Bay in 2016. While working towards her degree, she worked multiple jobs in retail and took on health care internships which taught her the importance of time management and communication in various environments.

 

A Bay Area native, Michelle was born and raised in Fremont, CA. She has one younger sister and thinks of her cousins as her “bonus siblings”. Having grown up in an Eastern culture, Michelle knows how to speak Farsi and Hindi in addition to English. Her hobbies include learning about Middle Eastern history and traveling to different destinations as she absorbs the culture.

Jason received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Samuel Merritt University in 2009. Since then he has been primarily focused on treating patients in an outpatient setting where he has treated a variety of orthopedic injuries; however, it is in sports-related injuries where Jason’s passion lies having treated athletes from the high school to the professional level.

 

Jason understands that every person is unique which is why he takes his time with each patient to customize a treatment plan to develop an individualized plan of care with specific goals achievable by each patient. Jason utilizes a very hands-on approach with his patients as well as using functional exercises and patient education to yield the best outcomes.

 

Jason continues his educational pursuit to ensure his patients receives the most up-to-date evidence based evaluation and treatments to provide the best care he can offer. He is also a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist 1 (CEAS 1).

 

In his personal time, Jason likes to maintain his health and fitness by playing sports, spending time outdoors, weight lifting and training. He also loves spending time with his family and friends as much as possible while rooting for the Warriors and Niners.

Vanessa Nordin, DC

Dr. Vanessa is excited to bring her five years of private practice expertise to Crossover. As a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP) and CrossFit Level 1 Coach, she has had opportunities to treat athletes from the Olympic level in weightlifting and volleyball, to avid CrossFit participants. She herself has a passion for athletics as she has competitively played soccer, softball, volleyball, track, crew, and rugby. She also has a passion for women’s health during pregnancy and postpartum to ensure a healthy pregnancy, birth and return to physical activity.

 

Dr. Vanessa believes that a combination of evaluation and correction of each individual’s movement patterns, posture and nutrition will greatly enhance the positive results of her work as a chiropractor. She takes a personal investment in your health when you work with her, and she continuously drives to stay current with techniques and research.

 

On her time off, you can find her in a CrossFit gym, playing outdoor soccer, snowboarding or hiking the South Bay hills. She loves to stay active, but always finds time to enjoy her family and friends.

Sahar is a Licensed Acupuncturist with a passion for integrating Eastern Medicine into the modern healthcare system. She earned her Master’s of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University in San Jose and her Bachelor’s in Global Environment, Health and Natural Resources from the University of California, Davis. In addition to her studies Sahar completed an intensive hospital internship at China Medical University in Taiwan where she had the valuable opportunity to observe the integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in a Western hospital setting. 

 

Sahar specializes in a broad range of conditions including pain, athletic injuries, stress, depression, and women’s health. She strives to create individualized treatment plans focusing on bringing balance to the body, mind, and spirit in order to address the root cause of her patients health concerns. She strongly believes in educating her patients about self care and providing them with tools to continue their healing outside of the clinic. 

 

Born and raised in California, Sahar enjoys the beautiful weather, nature, and diversity here. She values quality time with her family and friends. Outside the clinic she loves dancing, traveling the world, taking Persian poetry classes, soccer, and exploring the outdoors.

Born and raised in the south bay area Jennifer received her BA from Humboldt State University before deciding massage was the path she wanted to follow. Jennifer is a Nationally certified massage therapist and has been practicing massage for 20 years. In those years she has over 1000 hours of training as well as being trained as a Pilates instructor in the Polestar method.

 

Jennifer designs each session based on client goals and needs. Whether you completed your first Spartan race, need to de stress or just want to have the kinks worked out, Jennifer can provide a massage to help you reach your goals. Jennifer utilizes many techniques including deep tissue, cranial sacral, myofascial release and cupping. Jennifer believes that how we take care of ourselves today influences how we age.

 

Outside of work she spends time in the gym, playing with her three dogs and cooking meals from her garden.

Brendan Rearick, CFSU

Brendon’s personal mission is to spread the positive by-products of coaching and movement by using strength and conditioning as his platform. As a member of the Crossover care team, he is on a mission to make physical activity the new “most commonly prescribed drug.”

 

With a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Brendon got his start at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning (MBSC) in Woburn, MA. The growth-focused environment at MBSC motivated Brendon in a way he had never experienced. Over a few short years he progressed to become the Program Director and earned his massage therapy license. Soon thereafter, he started an education company with four co-workers – Certified Functional Strength Coach. In just three years, CFSC has certified over 3,000 trainers in over 20 countries.

 

Now a California resident, Brendon travels and coaches often for Certified Functional Strength Coach, and has recently become an active speaker at the Perform Better summit conferences. With an inexhaustible drive to learn more, practice his craft, and be the best version of himself, Brendon dedicates his free time to continuing education, dancing with his 3-year old daughter, reading, writing, and enjoying in the outdoors.

Allison Tanner, CFSU

Allison developed a passion for strength and conditioning when she started training to play Division 1 field hockey at Quinnipiac University located in Hamden, CT. While she attended school she was diagnosed with a brain infection that changed her career path and life plan. She began to realize that health should be a priority and that taking care of your body can sometimes be the best form of medicine.

 

She earned her degree in Health Sciences from Quinnipiac University in May of 2017 and completed several internships before earning her CSCS in 2018. She also has an FMS certification.

 

Allison believes that exercise is much more than just getting strong or getting fit. She believes that exercise can help improve health status, movement patterns, prolong life expectancy, as well as build confidence.

 

Outside of the gym, Allison loves to continue to educate herself as much as possible by reading and spending time with other fitness professionals. She also enjoys going to the beach and traveling.

Valentina Del Olmo, MA, LCSW

Valentina is an experienced clinician who specializes in helping clients to overcome the feeling of not being good enough. She is certified in the work of Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW on shame and the importance of vulnerability in creating a meaningful life and relationships. She uses the TEAM Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach to provide effective treatment for depression, anxiety, relationship problems and habit/addiction struggles. Valentina pursues continued development of her clinical skills through participation in weekly consultation groups and TEAM CBT trainings facilitated by Dr. David Burns, author of Feeling Good, The Feeling Good Handbook and When Panic Attacks. She worked with many highly educated, successful individuals who have found that professional accomplishments did not result in the personal fulfillment and happiness they expected.

 

Valentina was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She is proud of her mixed cultural heritage and identifies as a woman of color. She arrived in the Bay Area to attend Stanford University as an undergraduate in the early days of the Silicon Valley and has lived in the area off and on ever since. She is an avid college football fan with Stanford Football season tickets. However, Valentina also refers to herself as “a recovering Stanford student” to acknowledge her daily effort to let go of perfectionism and live an authentic, wholehearted life. She enjoys reading historical fiction and, on vacations, you will usually find her browsing antique stores, fabric stores and bookstores.

Brittany was born and raised in New Jersey. She attended The George Washington University in Washington, D.C where she earned a Masters in Public Health. Brittany is the middle child of a very close knit family which she considers her best friends and misses them all being in New York. In her spare time, she loves to workout, attend yoga classes, cook and anything that involves the beautiful California weather.

She was fortunate to work and gain experience while in various medical clinics ranging from a surgery office to a physical therapy clinic. Anastasia is a San Francisco native and a graduate of St. Mary’s College of California.

 

Anastasia loves San Francisco and continues to enjoy exploring and finding hidden gems the the city has to offer. She has a goal to visit every stadium in the NFL and MLB. She has a passion for sports, including both the Giants and 49ers. She previously served as a 49ers Fan ambassador where she provided game day customer service for 5 seasons. When not working she enjoys traveling and hanging with friends and family.

During that time, her experiences include internships and volunteer work that gave her the opportunity to work with Special Olympic athletes and various age groups. Melissa also enjoys cooking and is constructing her own book of recipes. Bikram yoga is her favorite method of relaxation and physical activity. Most of all, she loves spending leisure time outdoors with her dog Izze.

Paul is an amiable and adventurous individual with the personal goal to make at least one person smile a day. Ever since Paul was old enough to work, he began learning and fostering invaluable skills from working in varied industries – education, restaurant, fine arts, and rehabilitation to name a few.

 

Paul was born in the Philippines and immigrated to the United States in 1997 and is the youngest of six children. He attended college at San Jose State University where he was Cum Laude and received his Bachelor’s of Science in Health Science and also minored in Kinesiology. Outside of the clinic, He is also a “triple threat.” Paul is a professional performer who sings, acts, and dances for theatre, film, and private events around the Bay Area and abroad. Paul also is a Hula/Tahitian dancer, loves comic books, and believes stickers are too much commitment.
