#notbyyourself. The power of Health Coaching at Crossover Health

The-Long-and-Winding-Road

Two months ago we focused on the new you for the new year. Our own Dr. Ross Nelson spoke about setting specific goals and finding the internal motivation to change. And maybe you set out on a mission to improve your health and well-being. You started out strong on a diet or exercise program but…you’ve found yourself just bouncing right back into your old behavior patterns.

You are not alone. Contrary to popular belief and the captivating messages of the media, changing ingrained behaviors is a slow, incremental, and let’s face it, oftentimes disheartening process.  In the words of Mark Twain: “Habit is habit. It is not to be flung out of the window by anyone, but coaxed downstairs a step at a time.”

So, if you’re finding it a challenge on your own, a great next step is Health Coaching.

The long and wInding journey to behavior change

Behavior change resembles a winding path through the Alps, with peaks and valleys; not the straight and level, evenly paved road of Route 66. Knowing what to expect when embarking on a lifestyle change is the first step to success.

My mission as a Crossover Health Coach  is to empower you to be your best self.  I understand that knowledge and determination alone don’t always lead to a healthy lifestyle and I am committed to providing you with the tools that can take you on your journey successfully.

Health Coaching: A New Roadmap to Lasting Results

So, what is Health Coaching? Health Coaching is all about you! It’s a collaborative approach between you and me, your coach, to tackle any health endeavour. Together we’ll discover your core values and vision, set goals, define actions, revisit and adapt. Through coaching I will empower you to achieve these goals by connecting you with your inner strengths, wisdom and past successes.

Coaching is never prescriptive. I will meet you where you are on your health journey without  expectations or judgement and help you create a new roadmap to success. Supporting you with a compassionate and caring approach, my role is to get you from “ I should” to “ I want and will” to “I am” and, ultimately “I did”.

Ask yourself:

  • If I could learn anything about living healthier, what would it be?
  • What am I like at my best?
  • What do I value most about being at my best?
  • If I could change one behavior to make life better, what would it be?

Want to know how health coaching can help you answer these questions? Come in to Crossover to see me and see how we can make this journey to wellness together.

I’ll be hosting a presentation on health coaching on May 24th at Crossover Health as well and you can always reach me through your Crossover app
